In article number 2100059, Junsheng Wang and co-workers report that the heterophase interfaces in Al-Li alloys show generalized stacking fault energy (GSFE) decreasing from middle of δ'-Al3Li/θ'-Al2Cu/δ'-Al3Li composite structures to edge, leading interplanar slip along [001] direction at relatively low shear stress. This interface-mediated plasticity within ultrafine δ'/θ'/δ' precipitate is expected solve origin strength-ductility conflicts future alloy design.
